Yes I am well aware that Yanks go north (illegaly) for their medicine. But that is because of government red tape. If the USA had a more open and free market medical industry, then foreign medicine wouldnt be illegal, and prices would be lower.

It is the government that is the cause of the USA's healthcare woes, not free market competition.

yeah.....whatever. I've lived on both sides of the border. Canadas system isn't perfect, but neither is the USA's. Yes, Rich canucks DO go to the US, but do you know how many Americans come here to get their drugs cheap and try to scam OUR "horrible" system?

And the government will do it better? Seeing as they have already created this problem by allowing insurance companies to form trusts, etc., and preventing doctors from doing the same to protect their interests, I highly doubt that having the creators of Social Security and such running an exclusive, only-choice, tax-funded system is a good idea. Long live capitalism... and doctors. Not lousy insurance companies and thoughtless government policies!

The problem is that those people who have no insurance cannot afford preventative medicine. If they get ill, its a little bit to late, and it means more expensive health care for everyone.
We need to eliminate these individual health insurance companies who compete against each other. They love to take peoples money but dont want to give it back when they become sick because it cuts into their profits. Unfortunately, its profit over people.

But you won't be waiting 8 months I dont understand where this rediculous idea that "socialized" healthcare makes you wait months. I am canadian and I have never and i do mean NEVER had to wait for anything, unless you count waiting for my name to be called when my doctor is ready to see me (that's 20 minutes tops). Besides if your condition is in danger of getting worse you will get care right away, end of story and there is no need to worry about a bill.
